Studying the effect of cannabinoids involved in cancer and their effects in health or diseases

In our lab, we study how G protein coupled receptors, like cannabinoid or bitter taste receptors are involved in normal functions or disease states.

Since we need to change signaling from GPCRs for many different therapies, our goal is to understand the effect of different ligands, like the different cannabinoids, on various signaling pathways involved in disease. We try to understand how different ligands induce different responses, and how this will influence disease progression. One of our goals is to identify new targets to help in cancer therapy.
